BMC first put its trust in products from Continental Automotive Systems back in August 2004. Since then, Aftermarket has supplied boosters and tandem master cylinders for BMC’s Levend and Megastar vans and minibuses via the “Sales Braking Systems for Special Series and Commercial Vehicles (AI)” department, headed up by Karl-Hermann Tegge. The department was also responsible for handling the order for the ABS MK25 electronic braking system – from initial ABS application to training the production workers in Izmir. After BMC supplied a test vehicle in March 2006, ABS application and official TÜV homologation took place in Frankfurt in conjunction with Continental Automotive Systems Vehicle Testing. Finally, a winter test was conducted at the Conti proving grounds in Arvidsjaur, Sweden. AI developed end-of-line software and special diagnostics software for the small-series MK25 and used it for the first time in BMC products. An extensive training course took place in November 2006 on site in Izmir before series production got underway. Horst-Dieter Klaus, Trainer Technology and Sales at Continental Automotive Systems Aftermarket, ran the training program for BMC employees in the production, customer services, quality control and service departments.
