Interior Division -
Facts and Figures

The Interior division stands for information management between the vehicle, driver and passengers, between vehicles themselves, and between the vehicle and its surroundings. The division views itself as information managers in cars. The goal is to optimize the flow of information, develop new functions that establish a link with the vehicle surroundings and present data in a way that the motorist can grasp intuitively. Interior is broken down into six business units:

  • Body and Security – e.g. seat and door controllers, control and access systems
  • Connectivity – e.g. telematics, wireless integration of mobile terminals (MTs)
  • Commercial Vehicles and Aftermarket – e.g. tachographs, toll collection devices, commercial vehicle telematics, original replacement parts
  • Instrumentation and Displays – e.g. instruments, head-up displays
  • Interior Modules – e.g. cockpit electronic systems architecture
  • Multimedia – e.g. audio navigation systems as OE and for the aftermarket, multimedia systems
