The business unit "Electronic Brake and Safety Systems" established in 2003 is the logical consequence of the continuously expanding share of electronically controlled chassis technologies and the rapid promotion of networking active and passive vehicle safety systems supported by Continental Automotive Systems.

All the respective products and technologies are summarized here which are involved in the fields of electronic braking and stability systems and driver assistance and occupant safety systems. The development and production of the sensors and software required by such systems is also assigned to this business unit. Last but not least, the close cooperation and tight concentration of competencies ensures a rapid practical application of advances and developments within our APIA project, whose goal is a passenger car which actively avoids accidents and injury.
