1926 The Adler Standard 6 is the first car in continental Europe to be fitted with standard hydraulic four-wheel brake, master brake cylinder and hydraulically perated outer band brakes from ATE (ATE = Alfred TEves).
1937 Launch of the ATE tandem master cylinder for trucks, busses and passenger cars.
1950 Brake characteristic C is introduced as a criteria for the servo effect, friction factor sensivity and fading in the design of wheel braking systems.
1954 First use of ATE pump circulation brake boosters in the Mercedes-Benz "Silver Arrows" - the first hydraulic brake booster system in motor sport.
1955 The vacuum brake booster was launched in Germany.
1958 to 1961 Development of the "negative roll radius" design principle (ATE patent) for improved steering stability when braking. Mass production of ATE disc brakes starts in Germany.
1967 Acquisition of Alfred Teves GmbH by the American ITT Corporation.
